Hi there, thank you for visiting project55wv.com. My name is Sam Green and I am the pastor at Bible Baptist Church in Beckley, West Virginia. I would like to take a moment to share with you how Project 55 came to life.
In October of 2019, Dr. Al Stone, with Bearing Precious Seed Canada, was hosting our annual faith promise missions conference. Many years ago God put it on his heart to send a John and Romans to every home in Canada. By God’s grace and with the Lord’s enabling they have sent the Gospel to over half of the homes in the country of Canada. Our church, Bible Baptist, has been able to partner with Dr. Stone in this massive effort of getting the Gospel in each home in his country.
It was during this meeting that God began to impress upon my heart that we need to reach West Virginia. It's a wonderful thing for us to help reach Canada but what would be said of us if we don’t reach our own people? God put a burden on my heart to reach our home state. West Virginia has 55 counties. This is why it is called Project 55. We are praying that God will enable us, by His power and grace, to send the Gospel to every home in our state. There are over 750,000 individual residences in West Virginia totaling over 1.8 million souls.
The cost of printing and mailing each copy of John & Romans is only $0.23! So for less than a quarter, we can get the Gospel into the homes of our fellow Mountaineers. The sole purpose of this project is the Gospel. Jesus said in Luke 19:10, "For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost." His entire mission statement was in these 16 words. This is our mission as well. We believe when God’s Word goes out, it will not return void and it will bear fruit. Would you please pray about helping us with Project 55?
